The UNIQUE group art show will be on display in the lobby of the Health Sciences Library for the month of March.
UNIQUE is a celebration of the creative abilities of individuals who have disabilities. ARISE began the initiative in 2001 as an art and literary magazine to show the power of art to express, educate and inspire. UNIQUE has grown over the years to also include community art exhibits featuring the artwork published in the latest edition of the magazine.
The 2011 edition of UNIQUE features 58 creative works by 65 artists who live in 7 counties in Central and Northern New York. We are pleased to recognize the talent of the UNIQUE artists and writers, and to share these pieces with you.
ARISE is a non-profit Center for Independent Living run by and for individuals with disabilities. We promote the full inclusion of people with disabilities in the community, and work with people of all ages who have all types of disabilities. We offer more than 50 different programs and services in several broad areas including: Advocacy, Employment, Independent Living, Mental Health, and Inclusive Recreation.
ARISE services are primarily offered in Oswego, Onondaga, and Madison counties. Some programs are available in additional counties in Central and Northern New York. We invite you to learn more about our services or to become involved in our activities as we work to create a fair and just community in which everyone can fully participate. If you are interested in displaying your artwork at the Health Sciences Library please contact Olivia Maggio at firstname.lastname@example.org or 315-464-7200.
