Artist Statement
I believe in the search for truths, compassion, selflessness, respect & kindness, friends, challenges, & taking the high road.
12.2010: I had to change the description of my work and what I do, as I no longer find myself swimming in the same stream I have for the last couple of years. For the longest time, my work has centered around a large collection of intimate, small moleskin journals. They are miniature works of art, photographs & written passages, containing valuable keys to how and who I have become over the last 4 years. In recent months, my life has gone through a great deal of upheaval and change* , and the journals no longer inspire me to create. Beyond that, their emotional charge nags at my happiness. They have lost their luster, so to speak, as a source of my artistic drive.

September 2011: My x-ray artwork has been a continued body of work, which will culminate in a collection this December at Upstate Health Sciences Library. I bounce back to my journal work when I feel inspired to do so; other days enjoying just photographing the disparate world around me. I have begun to experiment with new mediums and new processes, as well as subject matter. At the moment, I cannot see what the future holds for my art, and I flee from my neurotic obsession of planning and controlling everything on my path, and embrace this moment of optimistic blind faith. I am enjoying my current work and the results. I like the freedom of not limiting myself to the confines of a particular genre and/or medium. That….makes me smile.
