Certified nurse midwife Heather Shannon describes the role of the modern midwife and the full range of services available through Upstate University Hospital’s Midwifery Program.  In addition to addressing the primary care needs of a woman, the Upstate team offers gynecological care, family planning, perimenopause and menopause management, among its services.
