Update on new Upstate Cancer Center

Linda Veit Thoracic surgeon Leslie Kohman, medical director of the Upstate Cancer Center, and Linda Veit, special projects manager, update us on the exciting new cancer center as it rises from the ground. The capital campaign continues to support the building and many exciting new programs that will complement the existing cancer program.

Cancer care for senior citizens

Oncologist Ajeet Gajra, associate professor of medicine at Upstate and the fellowship director in hematology/oncology, talks about cancer care for senior citizens.  About 60 percent of all cancers and more than 70 percent of all cancer deaths occur in the elderly, yet there is a lack of data regarding risks and benefits of cancer therapy in these older adults.
